We used to think our era was already volatile and complex enough—just look at how the sudden emergence of AI two years ago caught everyone off guard. But today, with the U.S. tariff policies growing increasingly unpredictable, businesses are facing even greater pressure to survive. This situation has only reinforced our belief: we are indeed living in a super VUCA world—one marked by extreme Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity.
For many business leaders, especially small and medium-sized enterprise owners, being in an industry tied to global trade means confronting tremendous survival challenges. Some have even been forced to lay off more than half of their workforce just to stay afloat.

CSPO serves as the North Star for enterprises, providing a steady direction for both teams and products
In a time full of uncertainties, the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) course is more than just a product management training—it acts as a “North Star” for enterprise transformation, guiding teams and products to rediscover their direction.
When business leaders, senior executives, and product managers embrace the agile mindset of CSPO, they gain deeper insight and greater control. This capability empowers them to stay calm amid turbulence and make clear, confident decisions.
Learners engaged in high-intensity group exercises, creating a highly interactive and immersive learning environment
This course enrolled a total of 24 participants, which, for me, is the maximum capacity for hands-on teaching. With groups of six and one laptop per person, I was practically running at full speed throughout the session.
Among the 24 participants, 15 were senior executives—including chairman, vice presidents, associate vice presidents, and even CEOs—while the remaining 9 were general participants. This combination created a highly diverse learning environment: the executives brought strategic vision, while the general participants excelled in digital execution. Their collaboration and mutual support sparked dynamic, high-impact learning teams.

CSPO is a flagship course for senior executives
What impressed me most were the backgrounds and perspectives of two particular participants. The first was Ms. Flora Hu, General Manager of Galaxy Software Services. Her company has been practicing Agile for over 15 years and is already highly proficient in its application. Yet, even with her extensive experience, she found the CSPO course deeply inspiring—she even described it as a “mini EMBA,” condensing the essence of several academic terms into just two days.

The second was Ms. Vicky Wei, Chairperson of Sinyar Digital. Having previously taken the CSM course, she found the CSPO experience even more impactful, stating that “CSPO is more beneficial for senior executives.” Her perspective resonated with over half of the executive-level participants, who unanimously agreed: CSPO surpasses CSM and is better suited for leaders seeking advanced professional development.

Genius is no longer unrepeatable: CSPO offers a learnable methodology for product managers
Traditionally, top product managers are seen as relying on “talent” and “intuition.” But here’s the question: is it possible to replicate excellence in Product Owners through a structured methodology? The answer is a resounding yes.
The CSPO course offers a comprehensive framework—from the foundational “Four Circles” (Product Vision, Roadmap, Release, and Build) to the advanced “Influence Map” of Why, Who, How, and What. This enables learners to fully connect the dots along a product’s value path, transforming instinct into repeatable strategy.

MVP hands-on practice combined with the Tower Challenge shattered learners’ preconceived notions of product design
The two most popular activities among participants were:
- MVP Fundraising Simulation Challenge: In this high-pressure exercise, learners had to pitch an MVP proposal convincing enough to win over angel investors—within a tight time limit. More than just a collaboration drill, it tested their deep understanding of product value. Many participants later shared that this was the most rewarding moment of the course.
- Tower Challenge (Build-the-Tallest-Tower Game): Each team came up with a unique solution, constantly pushing the boundaries of their creativity and assumptions. Far beyond just a game, it was a powerful experience in teamwork, iterative problem-solving, and innovation in action.
A 100-point product ≠ the most profitable product: A PO must understand the business model
Many Product Owners fall into the trap of thinking, “I need to build a perfect 100-point product.” But I always remind them: “A perfect product doesn’t necessarily mean a profitable one.”
In the CSPO course, we dive deep into business models and guide participants to build a real business model database. On average, each class generates four unique business models. After ten classes, this adds up to over 40 successful business case studies—forming a rich database for future CSPO learners to draw insights from and apply.
An outstanding PO isn’t just skilled at building products—they must also know how to build a business. And a truly advanced PO develops their own independent business logic and decision-making capabilities.
I spent six months building this course with one goal in mind: to help others surpass me
The creation of this course took over six months, from submitting materials for Scrum Alliance review to aligning learning objectives and developing the actual curriculum. It’s the longest I’ve ever devoted to building a course—but every moment was worth it. After the class, I received 18 heartfelt reflections from participants. That’s when I knew this course had become more than just knowledge transfer—it had become a vehicle for passing on influence.
In designing the course, I drew on insights from six CSTs, then blended those with my own understanding and experience as a Product Owner to shape a unique teaching style. I may be an accomplished PO, but my vision is for this course to help others become even greater than I am.
Here is a summary of the reflections shared by 18 participants after completing the course:
